Whispers of the Heart: Finding Wisdom & Direction
A RETREAT DAY to reflect on your life direction from a spiritual perspective through inquiry, journaling, quiet time, small group sharing.
We will reflect on:
WHERE HAVE I BEEN? - Over the past year, what did you give your time, energy and attention to? What has happened in your spiritual life, your relationship with the holy? What stepping stones and turning points have led you to where you are now?
WHERE AM I NOW? What is most life-giving to you now? Where do you find meaning? How are you using your gifts? What other questions are your life, your heart, the divine whispering in your ears?
WHERE AM I GOING? What’s new on your horizon? What is calling you forward to a future worth living for? If a miracle happened and a year from now your life was exactly what you hoped for, what would it look like? What would be different?
Facilitators: Barbara Valusek, M.Ed. & Jay Valusek, M.Ed.
Barbara is a counselor, spiritual director, and retreat leader. Jay is a retreat leader, educator, and positive psychology coach. Barbara and Jay underwent professional training in Contemplative Group & Retreat Leadership with The Shalem Institute. They have facilitated groups and Labyrinth retreats over the past 20 years. Their gifts lie in creating sacred space in which to listen deeply to the whisperings of your heart.

The Labyrinth of Letting Go
Description: The Labyrinth of Letting Go Retreat is a time to wholeheartedly let go. Let go of old ideas, attitudes and behaviors that have served their purpose…of relationships that have changed…of old roles and identities that are preventing you from moving forward…of whatever life is asking you to let go of. Letting go takes courage and requires trust in yourself. In my experience, doing something with the body helps the mind know that change is happening and has happened. Naming and expressing gratitude helps to deepen the process of closure and integration. After letting go, we can be open to new energy and next steps. We will spend time in reflection and journaling, walking the Native American Labyrinth, and sharing during this time of sacred space. The Sacred Ground of Grief Retreat
The way to heal our grief is by going through it, and by having others around that can support you in the process. Normal daily life doesn't offer time for this, so we need to take it for ourselves. This day is set aside to explore our losses, and grieve together in a safe and caring environment. We will also discover the gifts we've received and the strengths we've developed through our losses. Through sharing stories, reflection and journaling, and a communal grief ceremony, we will help our hearts heal. |
