Greetings, I'm Barbara. I've spent most of my adult life working with people in healing and personal growth, helping them come back to their center.
My beginning in healing happened when my daughter was just under a year old. She woke up crying one night, doubled over in pain. I had no medicine for her gas pains, and my husband was at work with our car so I was left to my own devices. I walked her around for long time, trying to soothe her. Suddenly I remembered the small container of blessed oil I had received at a class on healing prayer I had attended the previous week. I found the oil, anointed her, and said a simple prayer. Fortunately, she had fallen asleep so I laid her down to sleep again. About a half hour later, I heard giggles coming from her room. I opened the door to find her happily playing with her stuffed animals as if nothing ever happened. That was thirty years ago.
Since then, my healing career has taken a variety of pathways into the present, from healing ministry coordinator, to massage therapist, to spiritual director & retreat facilitator at various retreat centers. Today, I continue living out my calling by providing Reiki Treatments, Strengths Consulting, Spiritual Companioning, & Retreat facilitation.
My gifts and strengths lie in creating safe and sacred space, listening, encouraging, and "presencing." I have a gentle yet professional style in my approach, and trust moments of silence to help us hear what's going on in our hearts.
So much potential lies within us. Sometimes its just a matter of finding the right environment for our true selves to emerge. It's so important to find meaning, and to express our creativity. Perhaps this is what life is all about - living from our soul and finding a way through the inner and outer barriers, to melt the walls around our hearts and live life more fully. Such a life is definitely worth living.
